In Part 1, we learned how to recognize counterfeit spirits and ministers. In Part 2, we explored nine disciplines that sharpen your discernment. This final part of the series focuses on something very practical: how to pray when you encounter counterfeit influence.

It is easy to respond with anger, gossip, or avoidance when a leader falls or when something feels “off.” But God invites us into a higher response—that of a watchful intercessor who prays from a place of truth and compassion.

If you have ever watched a sermon clip on social media, felt stirred for a moment, and then later sensed something was “off,” you are not crazy—and you are not alone. We are living in a time when deception is rising and spiritual discernment is often at an all-time low in the Body of Christ (2 Timothy 3).

This isn’t to make you fearful; it is a loving wake-up call. Jesus warned that in the last days there would be false teachers, false prophets, and spiritual counterfeits so convincing that, if possible, they could deceive even the elect (Matthew 24:4–5, 11, 24). The good news is that God has not left you defenseless. He has given you His Word, His Spirit, and very clear markers to help you recognize what is real and what is counterfeit.

Understanding and Embracing the Eight Prayer Watches

Let’s talk about the 8 prayer watches. As a prophetic intercessor, the 8 prayer watches is a framework to enhance your prayers. It is not a formula for success, but a framework we see throughout the Word of God. As a person given to prayer, you may experience that you wake up or have a strong desire to pray at certain times regularly. This desire is from the Holy Spirit. Do not override it, but enquire of the Lord as to your next steps. God will give you specific prayer assignments in different seasons. At times, part of those assignments involves praying at a certain time of the day. Keep reading to discover the biblical significance of the different times of prayer.

Biblical Foundation for Prayer Watches

Prayer watches divide the 24 hours into three-hour segments focused on prayer. It's more than a direct mandate; it's a framework seen throughout scripture, providing a guide of consistent prayer across different times. God calls us to be watchmen, prompting us to be vigilant and spiritually disciplined. To be alert to God’s heart, God’s agenda, threats, and divine movements.

2 Kings 9:17-18 and Matthew 24:43 stress the importance of being watchful. We see God calling us to be spiritual watchmen, guarding against the enemy and observing God's activities. Throughout the Bible, we're encouraged to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), fostering continuous communion with God.

First Watch: 6 PM to 9 PM

This initial watch focuses on reflection, gratitude, and supplication. Referenced in Psalms 141:2, Genesis 24:63, and Psalms 119:148, it's a time for releasing anxieties and meditating on the Word. It sets the tone for the night and could involve an all-night prayer, reflecting on your day and seeking forgiveness.

Second Watch: 9 PM to 12 AM

This watch hinges on quiet trust and protection (Psalms 119:62, Acts 16:25-26, and Psalms 91). It's a potent time for spiritual warfare and protection, as seen in the story of Paul and Silas praying at midnight. It's crucial for breaking chains and overcoming spiritual strongholds.

Third Watch: 12 AM to 3 AM

Significant for intercession against spiritual attacks (Matthew 26:40, Luke 11:5-8), this watch offers protection and intervention against spiritual battles. Praying during this time is vital when seeking divine deliverance and protection.

Fourth Watch: 3 AM to 6 AM

A time for seeking God early, this watch is blessed with significance like Jesus walking on water (Matthew 14:25) and commanding the morning (Job 38:12). It’s an ideal time for divine visitation, intervention, and setting the day's course aligned with God's blessings.

Fifth Watch: 6 AM to 9 AM

Marked by praise and victory (Psalms 2:7-9, Psalms 5:3), this watch is perfect for declaring God’s promises. It's focused on aligning with God's plans, receiving fresh anointing, and making positive affirmations for success and favor.

Sixth Watch: 9 AM to 12 PM

This is a time for seeking spiritual empowerment (Acts 2:15, Acts 10:9). The Holy Spirit's outpouring empowers believers for their day's tasks.

Seventh Watch: 12 PM to 3 PM

A time for protection and dying to self (Psalms 91:5-6, Matthew 27:45-46), paralleling the crucifixion. Seek God's protection and reflect on His sacrifice, contemplating renewal and commitment.

Eighth Watch: 3 PM to 6 PM

Offering covenant deliverance, healing, and resurrection power (Matthew 27:46-50, Luke 23:44-46), this watch taps into the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice.

No matter which watch you undertake, I pray that God will be with you and the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Moving into the year 2026 I heard the Holy Spirit say, 2026 begins a season of “new and better”. This is not a word just for 2026; it is a seasonal word, and different aspects of it will be demonstrated in the next few years. Each year will highlight a different facet of God's word for that season.

Since 2019, the world has faced unprecedented challenges. These challenges have opened the door to the stronghold of fear becoming more deeply rooted in our culture and being.  Past years (especially the COVID years), brought fear and uncertainty. The COVID-19 pandemic, economic strife, and international tensions (wars and rumors of wars) have all played a role in shaping the current landscape.

As we enter this new season, it is crucial to cultivate discernment. Listening to those who demonstrate and speak the truth of God’s word is essential. We are in the season of counterfeits. We must have greater discernment not to be taken in these days.  We need to understand God’s Word, His character, and His love. Knowing the truth always guards you from accepting the lie. Something that is 99% true and 1% a lie is still deception.

Those who have been obedient and have done the inner healing work God has asked of them are equipped to be able to walk in the fullness of this word. However, if you are in a place where you need to fully surrender to God, that is the space and word for you this season.

The word of the Lord that came to me:

There’s new and better things that God has for you in this next season. Press into me. Press into my stillness. Know & understand my joy. It is my joy that is your strength. It is my joy that you need to walk in. It is my joy that is a door. It will give you access into realms. There are greater realms of power, sight, and knowledge My people have yet to step into. There are keys that I want to hand out. However, these doors and keys can only be accessed through me with an impartation of revelation. There are keys my body has yet to get full understanding of in the areas of joy, stewardship, discipleship, and pouring out yourselves to others. However, now is the time this is the season. The access has been granted. You must do what it takes in your walk with me to see the fullness of what I have for you in this next season. Access has been granted.

Crushing the Spirit of Heaviness: Practical Steps to Freedom

Crushing the Spirit of Heaviness: Practical Steps to Freedom

Spiritual warfare is not shouting at the devil. Spiritual warfare always has a spiritual strategy received from God.  It begins with aligning every part of your life with God’s truth. Your spiritual warfare strategy should include you commanding the spirit of heaviness to leave in the name of Jesus, and then come out of agreement with it through your actions—choosing praise, community, truth, and obedience. Follow the keys in this post as part of your strategy and anything else the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Gratitude: The Door That Unlocks Blessing in the Valley

Gratitude: The Door That Unlocks Blessing in the Valley

Valleys often symbolize a transition, whether physical or spiritual, representing a journey or a time of testing that leads to a different place or spiritual state. Gratitude in the valley unlocks a different grace than gratitude on the mountaintop. Gratitude in the valley comes from a place of quiet, testing, and deep roots. While the mountaintop reveals God’s glory, the valley reveals His heart.

I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
